I work at the Uni as a Techo and I wasn’t offended by you comment, just surprised someone noticed my bug
You might also see my other bug , it’s a 73 L-bug in matt black with a roll cage.
I use it for racing and drive it into work on my to the mechanic.

I'm always looking out for VW's in the carpark. So far I've spotted 4 different Beetles and a type 3 wagon. I havn't seen you L
bug yet but it sound great.
Beetles don't leak oil, they just leave their mark.

I agree with previous comments, it too rare a bus to not restore, especially having side safri's, not too many around like it. It is really a

A split bus of any year especially a early is difficult enough to restore in this country. Rat, crap or what ever you want to call it, the bus will
drive a again in a different light. Rat for 3-4 years then do a proper resto to full original. Just getting it going and on the road is a challenge
enough forgetting about ripple free paint, rust repairs, original equipment. Ive seen many busses in sheds and garages that will (in my eyes) never
see the road again because the owners are not going to go to the extreams of doing it. Get it started, fix the brakes/lights etc and drive the bloody
thing and enjoy!

I totally agree,
I started mine about 3 years ago and still not finished.
I wish I had just got the thing on the road, when you do the resto it always takes longer and then where do you draw the line, too many end up on
someones drive and when you ask if they want to sell it they all say, I will be doing it up soon, then 3 years later it is the same but with more
rust.
Just Drive it.

Or do what i did buy one already done , thje diference between driving one and restoring is not just the money its the time. Life is short.
I chose to spend the money then have 1000 hours of driving one as opposed to 1000 hours of restoring one.
If you dont have the money but can drive a ratie then power to you at least you get the 1000 hours driving pleasure.
