72 Super brake light switch

Hi, my daughter has a 72 superbug. When the brake pedal is pushed the brake lights only come on when the pedal is pushed all the way in. I have metered the switch on the master cylinder and the wiring and all Ok.I tried adjusting the pedal movement to no avail. Do I need a new switch or master cylinder?. I need to get it sorted as when stopping at slow speeds the brake lights are not working. " accident waiting to happen'. Failing any other ideas I could fit a microswitch on the pedal mechanism itself?.
Thanks for any info in advance. AL

Hi

Just get a new switch, they get lazy or fill up with gunk.
