Original interior 1970 beetle

Hi There
we purchased our very first beetle on Saturday and are hoping to restore her to its original beauty. On our list of thing to do, we wanted to replace the tired red seats and trims. Any ideas on what the original colour schemes were??

Hiya m_a,

VW matched up interior colors with exterior colors. If you know the original exterior color it is possible to determine the original interior color (or color possibilities - there were, in some cases more than one interior color offered).

So, what color is your 70 Bug?

My 1970 bug (I purchased it new and still have it) was Savannah Beige (baby poo brown :-) on the outside and bone coloured o the inside, with a white headliner. White car with a black interior was popular too that year. White with a red interior was another option I think (certainly was in 68 - I have one of those too :-)

Hi m_adams1976, I have a seat out of a 71 bug, the cover is brown original and real tatty but if it's any good to ya I could strip the cover and send it to you (you pay postage) that would get you the exact cover to have yours recovered as new. Let me know if that helps.
