"D" sign, usually they are placed on the rear of the car, but due to the big ass over riders had to move it to the front

Hey looks real nice. I would love to see a couple of shots of the interior as I have a very very much beaten up and modified 62 beetle. Yours is a bit of a blueprint :spin:

no worries ill post some up tonight, the interior is original, the back seat is in good condition , the front seats have wear and tear at the moment they are covered with oldie retro seat covers. Door cards along with the headlining are great for 46 years of age. Ive ripped up all the rubber from the floor and completely rust proofed it all. I have placed some cut to size carpets over the floor to keep it all neat. Sometime next year ill tackle the interior will new everything.

Back On Track

Its been a long time, a very long time, and due to financial difficulties and a major car accident the Beetle project had taken a spot on the back burner.

But now after overcomming both this issues i have decided to continue the project.

Since my last update i have only done minor stuff, including new tyres and VW mudflaps.

Most tyre retailers dont seem to stock this size of tyre anymore, prob due to the fact the they have been phased out

Picked these up from Georges, a cool accessory, got my dad a white set for this superbug. They were crazy difficult to get the right had side flap put on as the bolts were sooo old and threaded. Ended up drilling through the holes and distorying the threads so I could get a long bolt and nut setup through.

Small Update

Took the car to Hans to have a new fuel pump put in. Unfortunatly from what hans tells me is thats its quite hard to find an early fuel pump.

When the pump was removed and inspected there was about 7 gaskets under the pump????

Anyway the pump was cleaned and put back on. Also hans removed the handbreak and gear stick gave it a clean and put on a fresh coat of white/ivory paint.

the extra gaskets are to control the fuel pump pressure
the more gaskets stacked under it the more the pressure drops

the fuel pumps are the same on all 40hp onwards motors its just a case of getting one to suit the long pushrod and not a short one
