Can anyone identify this...

Looks like a cross between a Moke and a Country Buggy, but 1955 ??

yeah its on a 55 chassis but its not Volkswagen, except for the origional bits that have been used

back in the early 70s lots of people made these sort of buggies from square tubing and sheet metal sort of a home made country buggy and its diffiently not a thing or 181 as some people have sugested to the seller on Ebay

I know of 3 that were built in Rockdale Sydney NSW and these went to the wheat farms for farmers to use on tehre properties

I do agree with this comment and there is absolutely no connection to CB as far as body panels go.

Interesting.
The vehicle has more the overall look of a Moke to me (front & side views).
Those top hinged rockers are curious, as well as the rear storage compartments in the top of the rear fenders
Unless those rockers are of very heavy guage steel, I would question their sturctural integrity by having a open top.
Rocker panels are very important to the sturctural integrity of the 181 and 182, just as they are to CB's.

Quirky as this beast is......I still kind of lke it.

  all the ppl thinking its a 181 thing
i would have thought it was bloody obvious just by looking at it that its some sheetmetal workers backyard creation
i worked in sheetmetal for a few years i can guarantee its home made
its very well made tho

Certainly home made - but still interesting, especially if it is really a 1955 home built, as the mini (and the mini moke) wasn't even conceived !
