Looking for a photo of a CB gas cap
Can anyone supply a good, close up pic of an original CB gas cap?
I know I had one saved to file from somewhere from an email or the net, but I'll be damned if I can find it anywhere.
As I recall, there was a roo, maybe two roos stamped or embossed on the top of the cap with the VW logo.
Thanks,
Steve

I stumbled around on the net and found this pic.
Can one of you mates verify this is in fact a CB gas cap?
Did all VW's manufactured in Oz have this logo on the cap or was this a CB specific part?
Any more pics out there, guys?
Go take a look, snap some pics of your own, and post the best ones here.
Regards,
Steve

I'm pretty sure the CB used the same gas (petrol) filler cap as any other Aussie-made 60s Beetle

Yes the fuel cap would be the same as used on beetles in australia around 1967.. [?]
the VWA logo was on the backside of the cap...
VW on the top...

Gentlemen,
I just returning after a prolonged period of not being able to login to the site.
Suddenly, the site didn't like my password and shut me out cold.
I was finally able to get through to Andrew and he reset my passord.....so I'm back.
Kudos to Andrew!!!
On another note, it sure has been quiet here lately.
What have you gents been up to???
I don't mean to be the dufus American poster here, but I'm still not clear about this gas cap question.....
Did CB's (and Bugs) have the Volkswagen Australasia roo logo in the cap somewhere?
Remember I reside in Indiana, USA, not OZ, so I've never been privy to seeing one of these critters.
If someone has another pic of this logo and gas cap, I'd sure appreciate seeing it.
Thanks,
Steve

Well this is from a '65 Notch and should be the same. Hope this gives you a better idea what they look like.

Steve,
The guys are right- the logoed fuel cap was not specific to Country Buggy and it was used for all Australian production Beetles of the time.
I dont have any specific details of what years though.
Glad you are back with access to the Forum.
Bill.

I'm going to hijack the thread a bit.
Does this Volkswagen Australasia logo appear on any other parts on the CB that anyone is aware of?

Steve
