STAND OFF BRACKETS~INSTALL ADVICE

Hey All~
Wondering what the expert installers think!!!
Would it be ok, to use stand off brackets to set my head unit back away from behind dash (under the hood) & fix for mounting, so I can run with my radio block off plate??? hope you understand! my question!! cheers thanks!
