Yeah they sure do shovel some sand when you sink the nose into a dune butr suppose they did'nt have doing this in mind when they designed it.

top one is my screensaver
This is the original 16inch dual cab version that was left in OZ after the obvious Australian rally.
A bloke in WA owns it and has restored it immaculately there is a full story on the web about the vehicle.

Keep the steering and the propulsion seperate . Still a Kombi...

It's all good, until it's bad, i suppose

Here's what me and some of my cousins/mates used to get up to on Moreton Island a few years ago before rangers closed all the "good" bits of the
island off...

The first dual cab lifted by Volks Engineering. Powered by 2.0L with mild cam/webers/exhaust/headwork. 10R 15" on rear with 215/75/15 on front

My cousin's dual cab powered by 2465cc Type 4 with lots of goodies and heaps of power and torque.(who needs an engine transplant??) 12R 33" 15" on
rear with 235/75/15 on front

Mates bus(now lowered with flames painted on sides if anyone knows the car) powered by stocko 2.0L with 12R 33" 15" with 235/75/15 on front.

They actually landed pretty damm good speaking from experience!! Bit of a worry when you go up as all you can see is lots of sky!! A lot of people
complain about the lack of power from a stocko 2.0L type 4 but set up the right way with the right gearing they will do the job and pull a hell of a
load. Beach work isn't all about how fast you can go but how slow you can crawl through soft stuff and watch 4WD's get stuck behind you LOL
