o agree, it annoys me, all i can do is hope that when they grow up a bit they realise there is other stuff to do and the more interesting people are

I just had a friend come over from Sanfransisco to stay for 6 weeks,

WE hadnt even gotten out to the pacific highway before he was saying geez how far is it to your place? not real far by Aussie standards, we said, at
newcastle he was going "youre not serious, How much further?" Not far we said, just a hop skip and a jump up the road.

By Coffs harbour he was swearing and crying, "you cant be serious"and "Im going to sleep"
He knew he had been asleep for a few hours when he woke but just couldnt believe we were still driving.
The Mastercard corporation couldnt afford to pay for the look on his face when, as we crossed the NSW/QLD border I said " That marks the half way
mark" with a straight face.
Poor bugger he would have rather lost a limb than travel another Klm.
But the next Day he saw the funny side of it but his Ass was still sore from sitting for so long.
I am pretty sure that his leaving had nothing to do with the torture we subjected him to, driving all that way.
He'll get over it.
By the way I dont mind all the Cars going overseas because that just makes my cars rarer and worth more.
But harder for parts.

I am 30 and I like listening to Eminem. I think he is a good entertainer. The operative word is entertainer. I am not compelled to live anything like
him or the homies that follow. I think there is a little bit of a problem with the huge amount of TV + American influence = kids becoming less likely
to have their own personality.
Yeah I grew up in the 80's and was a headbanger/ bogan and followed like a sheep, but that was not as American as what kids do now.

Oh on the distance thing. I had an Auntie come over from Holland and she spun out how far it was from Tullamarine airport to my parents place (220km
