Dual 40idfWebers and cold starts?

Hello, I've recently installed Dual webers carbs on my 1835 Kombi and I've been made aware that they don't like cold starts because of the lack of a choke but, I was wandering what was the best "accelerator pedal pump combination" for cold starts would be, currently I'm trying 2 pedal pumps, and then start the motor,,,with no success,, I then tried 2 pumps of the pedal and kept my foot on the pedal when I kicked it over and still no great luck,,,both times I've had to kick it in the gut's about 3-4 times befor it would ignite and idle. I love the performance I'm getting from the webers when I'm away and running, but the 3-4 starts in the morning is a pain in the ass, not to mention my motor. Can someone with weber experience offer some advise please, so I can get my Kombi going in the mornings with less turns on the ingnition?

Thank you.

Hi,
I have 40 IDF's on my 2L Kombi and find that 2 pumps plus a slight depression of the pedal then crank works fine.
Check that your ignition is in good shape and that the idle mixture is not too lean.

I had a 2 ltr Kombi with 44 IDF's on it and it was easy to start, one pump and hit it, started easily.
I would check your ignition system, points leads, plugs etc,
What jetting are you running?

Thanks Boyz, I'll check into all things suggested and report back how I went. I didn't think the Webbers were made to perform the way they have been on my kombi, I HATE STARTING IT 3-4 times to get her top go!!!
