opinions on rust converter?

Hi everyone,

Just wondering what all your thoughts are on rust converter?
I have a few areas on my ghia that have the pitted metal look happening. These areas are still nice & strong so am thinking that cutting out and replacing the metal may be a tad drastic, which has led me to look for a chemical solution.

Should I go for a rust converter and if so, which brand?

Should I buff off all the surface rust first before applying it?

And what do you guys recomend with regards to prepping after treatment?

Cheers,
Cam

Thanks for that, will look into it. How do you go about prepping the surface?

I found this:
http://www.theruststore.com/How-To-Use-Rust-Converter-W29C2.aspx
But it's not really accurate with regards to if I take it all back to bare metal or leave surface rust (assume the latter) and then the preparation for prime & paint.
