Yes the Beetle is mine - so is the Spyder - I have a 61 KG "project" for sales as well if anyone is interested.

The Beetle is on display at the Whitemans Park Motor Museum in WA. It now is fitted with a Judson supercharger.

I bought the beetle in 1979 from the original owner. With receipts, handbook, factory workshop manual (the 2 in thick one) the lot including a Hazet tool box with only one missing tool. He bought it new in 1956 in Trinidad. He then took it to Indonesia before importing it to Perth in the early 60's. It was painted with house paint but under the panels I could see it was once polar silver. It is strange car because and was sold as a deluxe with US spec towel rail bumpers but had semaphores. I restored to origibal about 10 years ago and then found a Judson to put on it. It is on display at the car museum now. My Spyder is more fun to drive, but with the Judson on my Beetle was capable of keeping up with traffic and did surprise a few people . For about 5 years it took top honours at the WA DOVW but then I must of inspired people to do better and number of ovals popped up in Perth that had better resorations. My interior carpet while it is good job it not quite the right square weave look.

Ken
