thinking of building a baja

gday all
i got a 68 beetle shell and a spare swing axle chassis lying aroung my house so i was thinking of building a baja. How hard is it to cut the front off and fit the kit? where can i get these kits? how much wheel clearence can i get with out a body lift? i will convert it to irs how high can you jack the arse up? how high can a ball joint front beam be lifted? i think this car could be alot of fun so i can wait to get started....
