Item Cost - $6,500.00

here are the details on Christine's Razor

1965 Type Karmann Ghia 1500

Australian delivered and sold to original owner Miss D Field in June 1966.

Has all original books and documentation of service history up until May 1983 by which time it had covered 54,000 miles. Appears to have had engine swapped at some time after that (haven't double checked the engine numbers though). I understand that it has only had 2 registered
owners.

The car starts, runs, drives and stops OK, although I've only given it a few short drives around the area as it's unregistered.

We're selling it as I bought it early this year on the basis of the owners description and some photos that it could be almost immediately registered (with minor repairs) and used as a weekend cruiser. It was represented as only needing very minor rust repairs in the inner front wheel arches and then would be OK for rego. On receiving it in Darwin that was obviously not the case. After putting it up on the hoist and looking at the rust in the floor, I believe that it would take me approximately 20 hours to cut out all the rust necessary to pass a rego inspection, fabricate patches and weld them in. I have many other
projects in progress and simply do not have the time (or inclination) to work on the Razor.

There is rust visible in other parts of the car particularly l/front of the bonnet and both doors have previously been poorly repaired and will ultimately require significant repair work to get right.

We are after $6500 for the car and I'm happy to drop it off at any freight depot
