Will low seats fit straight into a 1970 bug? What year did they change from low to highback seats?

tis all about the runners not the seats. A 70 will have a T shaped runner where as a lot of low backs will have an L shape and will not fit. if the
runners are the same then they will fit.

hi backs didnt start till late 71
so if it has high backs some PO put them in
do they match the rest of the interior?
ive seen alot of ppl put in gemini, corolla, datto etc seats in bugs that were originally low backs
depending when in 70 it was built u could have either L or T runners very late 70 T started
theres 3 kinds of runners
the L shape thats 70 and earlier, T shape 71-74 and the three point runner thats late 74 on
3 point runners wont fit anything but theyre own kind
but u can fit the T style 71-74 high backs to L runners but theyre wobbley as hell
L runner seats wont fit T runner floors tho
