Newbie... 73' SuperBug w/piks [56k bewarned]
Hi,
Im new here just wanna say hi and share my Bug with the rest of the forum... and ask for some help in getting her road worthy, the car has been in my
family since my parents immigrated here from Philippines waaaay back in 75' and it was my dads first car, he has kept it since.... the car is over
30yrs old and it really shows... it hasnt been kept in good condition in the past yrs, but when i was about 14-15 i started getting into cars and
doing stuff to the lil' bug... i had planned to have it all road worthy and ready as soon as i had completed high school (in 95'), but as things
eventuated other priorities took over and the car was put asside once again to collect dust...
now im back on track and would like to get her going this time around.... its been about 14yrs since i last done anything to the car.... i hope there
are some people in this forum that can point me in the right direction and advise me if there are any VW tuners they can recommend in the south west
Sydney region, to be exact im in the Campbelltown area.... im very novice when it comes to the VW bug as my past cars have been Japanese imports (R33
Skyline, 91' CRX, 91' MX6, AE91 Corolla)... again thanks for any help that anyone can provide in the near future...
Specs:
- 73' SuperBug
- chopped roof, made into a convertible
- removed the chrome lines/decals
- flare guards kit
- cali window kit
- gemini rear tail lights
- rear whale tail spoiler
- re-upholstered interior in white/blue vinyl
- front disc brakes (standard)
- rear drums (standard)
- engine has been bored out to 2ltr instead of the stock 1600 (at least i think its a 2ltr)
- rims are 15' (unknown brand)
- rolling on Pirelli P600 215/60 VR 15 (yes they r flat)
these are the most recent piks of the buggy i took just a few mins ago.... gave her a bit of a wipe down and cleaned off the thick layer of
dust....
as u can see she still needs quite a bit of work... i just want to get the body close to new/decent condition and then work on the engine...
my son (6yrs old) is already asking if he can have it when he gets old enough to drive... hopefully i can pass this down to him when the time comes...
thats him in the piks...
sorry for the large piks... dunno how to resize...
thanks

Any one of our forum sponsors should be able to help you out. Of course it depends where you're located though....

PM sent -- if you are anywhere in the Sydney basin area - I recommend you go and have a chat with the guys at VForce.... They are certainly looking
after Bugluv ( my daughter) and her 1303S very nicely..
