What revs at 100ks

Howdy people

We have now done over 800ks since puttiny the subie in the T3 with no problems.
Ok Marlin is a 86 T3 Auto he has 205/75/15 allround and at 100ks he is reving at 3600/3700 I was thinking this is a bit high.
I thought maybe 3200 or 3300 would be closer to the mark.

can Anybody tell what other auto T3 rev at 100ks

Thanks
Marc

yeah those are fairly tall tyres so 3600/3700 rpm @ 100kmph seems wrong

might be worth checking out some of the vw gear calculators floating around on the net

out of interest what type of tyres are those...commercial or 4wd H/T tyres?

Hi
They are just a standard road tyre.

Those are a fairly big tyre and I would have thought approx 3200RPM @ 100kph would have been realistic, unfortunately my auto T3 doesn't have a tacho but it certainly doesn;t rev that high.i am running 195R14C as specified. Is the tacho giving the correct reading as sometimes during conversions they lose the plot. you might check it against another hand held unit.

so, if You had 14 inch wheels and tyres
it would be revving its head off...

My 68 Auto beetle does about 3500RPM at 100 kmh..

so, Yours sounds wrong..

You would be chewing thru the fuel if those figures were correct...

hopefully another tacho will give You a better reading...

Heya bloke you may need to throw one of these on.
http://www.smallcar.com/index.php?act=viewProd&productId=78
and one of these
http://www.smallcar.com/index.php?act=viewProd&productId=90

My EJ25 sits at about 2800rpm @ 100K's although it's only a 4speed manual and 4th gear has been made taller. I am running 15x6 rims and 70profile tyres.

have you used the 4th gear ratio from the 1.9 litre units?

they've got a 0.77 as oppossed to the 2.1's which have 0.82 or something

btw: are those 205 width tyres you've got, or 195's? I'm thinking of some 205/70-15's but most are either commercial or H/T 4wd tyres. Not too many passenger tyres of this size. Don't want to ignite the passenger vs commercial tyre debate but i was just thinking i'd prefer the passengers

Hi guys
thanks for the input.
the tyres are 205/65/15.
I am going to run with the bus as is and see how it goes fuel wise.
Found out (by going through the Etoll lane )that my speedo is 5ks out so when the speedo says 100 I am doing 105.
so that drops the revs down a little.

thanks

Marc

Shit if u are 5 K's high runnig a 65 profile tyre that means i could be 5-10K's higher yeh?
I was thinking that after my trip home from Sydney and couldnt remember what way the ratio works

Tyres on myn are 205/70 /15 Nakangs.
As for ratios i would have to ask Yan but i suspect it is so.
