Hi

if that is the "normal" CV Joint bolt multi point tool/socket

they are in stock at AUTO One...

at least they were when i bought one...

Naturally they wouldn't be at Blackwoods...
its a VW tool...

My beetle has half and half of the screws..
Half Multi and the other half are Allen headed screws..

My Sons beetle had all Multihex screws
and he went to the local screw shop and replaced them all with high tensile allen headed scews..

He hated the multis.. as they can be a problem..
so can the allen headed ones if some one has used the incorrect sized allen key in them.... lol
[imperial size]
cheers

LEE

pS: If they are the same bolts etc..

Hi

Make sure you dig all the crud out of the bolt head and give the socket a whack with a hammer to make sure its seated OK. Kombis used 6 sided or Allen head bolts, Type 3s and bugs used the 12 point ones.

Well I have both sorts its agood thing to degrease the bolt ends so the tool won't slip..
I have heard of people cutting them off with an angle grinder... lol

I heard if You paint the screws/bolts with green paint they won't come loose.. lol
worked for Me...

I still have the special washers on my bolts..
I heard they were discontinued at some time...
and they are not needed??
