EJ22-Type3 engine mount. Looking for ideas please


Hey I'm putting the motor in this week and am looking for ideas on engine mounts. Havnt realy had a look yet and not sure where to start. Actually the motor should be bolted up tomorrow.

add some removable chassis horns to your rear subframe to mount the gearbox off. triangulate them to the shock mount. make a new cross member for the engine support. you may want to add some extra metal in the back section to stiffen it up. Wayne Penrose did this with a turbo type4 notch he built. There's a bunch of pics of it in VWmA over the last year or so.

Thanks Pete. Good Ideas there. I have a trans mount from V-force racing and They are going to send me some pics helping me with installing it. Yep looks like I'll do what you said and start fabbing. Just got work out how to use this tig welder :dork:

Yeah what pete said.. Also I had trouble getting the stock engine mounts/brackets to do what I wanted to do, so I got some new ones from the auto parts store, off a commodore or something, that were better sized.
