rules in WA re: beam ext

sitting watching Bathurst and thinking about the rod I am going to build. Any of you knowledgable souls know the regs in WA (Wait Awhile) regarding mods that can be made. Would like a beam ext and cycle guards, i think a roof chop is beyond my capabilities LOL. Bomber seats and basic interior. Cheers:crazy::cool:

I see no problem if you keep your Volks Rod simple and basic.

Replace the mudguards with suitable cycle type guards, headlights in buckets, indicators and tail lights from motorcycles, high central brake light (they wiil like that touch), interior all black and the wheels and tyres stock.

Paint it matt black, with red wheels and white hub caps and side walls. Leave the Iron Cross off the doors until after you've had it checked and passed. The implications of the Iron Cross and Nazis can upset some people.

I've been thnking about doing one that way for a while. It would be quick and simple. I don't think that you would need an engineer for that.

If you want to chop the roof, to extend the beam forwards, to change the doors to suicide doors, or to fit modified 1940s Ford wire wheels etc., then you will need an engineer.

May I suggest?

He is the engineer for my Manx SR and he was highly reccommended to me by members of the WA Hot Rod community.

Thanks Shaihulud. Will contact engineer in near future. If he is onside with the hot rod guys should be good for us.
Reading one of the other posts on the forum, does not sound like extending the front end is going to be approved. I will keep sniffing around, never know what you will learn on this forum, Cheers
