new to bugs!
hey guys, quick intro, im paul, from the gold coast, and im looking at getting my first vw. originally i was after a squareback, but i think ill be
getting a bug, just on account of how many more there are to choose from, and the availability of parts i seem to be able to find?
i was looking to get something from the 60's era, pre-super beetle.
saw this on ebay, anyone know anything about it? or if its a good buy? http://cgi.ebay.com.au/1961-Volkswagen-Beetle_W0QQitemZ320325564755QQcmdZView...
id be looking at getting some skinny wheels back on it, lowering it significantly, and getting rid of that tint :P some ventians, a visor, peep
mirrors, eyelids, roof racks, engine mods dont concern me too much, its more of a weekend cruiser as id use my motorbike to commute during the
week.
anyway, any advice would be much appreciated!
thanks guys.

Hi! The pre 1968 cars with the 'layback' headlights, the big stud pattern on the wheels and domed hubcaps are more stylish in many people's
opinions, but the later models cars are much better mechanically, with disc brakes (most models) better design of suspension and better bodyshell,
heating, 12V electrics etc

looks okay but there are plenty on the coast here and the cost of getting it here and the risk of not being able to see it.....try local first! |

I'm in the same situation, just started looking for a car and am unsure of what to purchase. typ3,standard or super. prefer pre 67 so i can have the
5 lug wheels, but cant believe some of the pricing nowadays.being in Adelaide there is not much getting around. so i am going to have to keep some
money for shipping and them thieves at regency
i really wish i never sold my last car now pictured in sig.sold that for $3000 and have no chance of purchasing anything as tidy as that for that
money.anything decent seems to be $5000 and up.
