Drag Racing-Jan 10th for the SA Boys

We have a meeting next weekend in Whyalla (350k's north of Adelaide)at our 1/8th mile track.I have entered my NB as well the Oval.I will be in the Oval and my wife is going to crank up the NB.I ran the NB at the last meet and best run I could manage was a 9.72.I have previously done a 9.54 but couldn't get any where near it again. Will be the first time out in the Oval-keen to see how it goes.Heres the flyer.

Shutzenfest is on down here the same weekend, I'll finally be going this year.
How often is there racing on at this track? Would be keen to go there when my car is done

Have heard a similar rumour, hope it happens. So much land out there and no residents to disturb, would be perfect for it.
Reub, we used to have a 1/4 mile at Virginia which is on the outskirts of the suburbs to the north, but it got canned for insurance or something. Having said that it was used for Gazzanats recently so you must still be able to get permits for it or whatever.
The lady at the speedshop told me the other day theres an ANDRA tri series that uses Whyalla and 2 other tracks, I think one was Mildura. Its with all the V8's of course but at least its racing, and there's points on stake at each meet kind of like Portland & Warwick.
Might give it a go when the car is built

Had an interesting day.Oval was not as quick as I was hoping.Had a lot of trouble trying to up shift B4 it hit the rev limiter.Wife kept cleaning me up in the NB.Both cars seem to run very close to the same times. We both run 9.8's-9.9's all day. Here is a time slip-I'm 6174 and she's 6176.We both need to clean up our act at the tree.

Gary,
Great stuff! Must have been quite a site seeing your two cars side by side!
9.987 over the 1/8th is around a mid 15 in the quarter; still a weapon on the road!

That's great go the girls, I run a lot around the 10.5 on 1/8mile with my 1915 oval street car. What times do you think you should be getting with that monster engine in your oval?
Post some pics for us to drool over.

I was hoping for 9.5 or better.I need some more seat time.I am manually shifting the auto and need to look at the tacho and try to shift at 6.000 B4 the rev limiter cuts in.It takes too long to get back on power.Any how it's all go again back on my Drag Car.Making all the jigs up at the moment to fit an auto trans into it.Sent the drive plate out today to have the 8 dowel holes done to match the Autocraft crankshaft.

And this bloke in the Valiant with a 265 with a 4 barrel and all the gear-all he wanted to do all day was to beat me and we had 2 more grudge runs after the meet was over but it still didn't happen. He was a really nice bloke and we had a good chat and laugh about it B4 he drove it back to Adelaide .
