Interestingly, when we bought the car (in the mid 80s), the main thing I didn't like was the colour. However, it has grown on me over the years, especially its ability to not look very dirty, evein if it hasnt' been washed for 3 months, and the fact that everyone knows me in the car this colour, so when I had it re-sprayed in 2007, I actually paid to have it re-sprayed in Martini Olive again. Go figure huh!

Hi guys, have not checked this thread for a while - pleasantly surprised to see some discussion.

Due to global financial crisis, no new wheels or lowering this year.

Love all the L Bugs on this forum. This is my first R&P bug and I can't rave enough about the handling.

Am running Kadrons, and even with smaller jets installed fuel consumption is in that 11 to 13 litres per 100kms. And that's driving sensibly. Will electronic ignition improve this at all?

Cheers

yes-ish
It will certainly help keep it in tune compared to points
And a well timed car is more efficient than not

A whack on a sniffer might be a good idea to see what it is doing

Small jets i have found dont always mean better fuel consumption
