Question !!!

Haye guys anyone on here a member of the Gold Coast Vee Dub Club ????

Ok two questions !!!!

Is it only European veedub owners that acknolodge each other !!!

Was out and about round Burleigh / Surfers paradise area and the only two other veedubs that made any effort to acknoldge each other turned out to be brits !!!!

Strange that !!!!!

Ohwell nothing as queer as folk !!!!

Hey Bugboymatt, although I'm not from the gold coast (I live in Brisvegas)...I do get down the coast pretty much every weekend and always acknowledge other veedubbers.

I guess that some people own dubs for purely transport reasons rather than as a matter of enthusiasts choice (like most of us on this forum!). Hope you run into other friendly dubbers soon!

Alan

I've driven Beetles, Golfs, Kombis and Passats and can confirm that Kombi drivers are the friendliest of the lot. If you're driving a Kombi you (nearly) always get Kombi owners waving at you. It's brilliant.

I agree about the Kombi owners waving more. The only ones I noticed that dont wave as often are the >50 age bracket. Maybe they are concentrating more on the road and not what models are driving around.
Although I notice in the Beetle more little kids wave at you from the back of 4WD's and wagons. They find them almost comical sometimes?
On the VWCV 'Left behind' run to Barooga on the weekend some 'tough' locals (I think) thought it would make us cry if they stuck their fingers up at a 'bunch of beetles' driving past.
I think there is something in that for all of us?
Generally I think you have more fun in a VW, especially air cooled! In my opinion anyway!

Peter
