Interesting setup Al...(good interesting that is)
only comment...face plate from 10mm steel + gussets. That's fairly robust.

Cheers for the link Adam - will check them out (looks like there is one that is pretty much bang on to the dimensions we have been working with).
Stanley - you are right the faceplate is pretty thick (to provide the necessary support)....the front will have holes/slots machined into it to
lighten both the weight and/or aesthetic "heaviness" to it.
Al
Hopefully will have some more updates over the next week.

Hi guys, things have been progressing with the supercharger installation albeit a little slowly due to some delays on machining work and the fact we
have still been so busy working under the bus!
Here are some pics.
Mounting plates for inlet manifolds were fab'ed from aluminium and match ported reasonably closely using manifold gasket as guide. They were faced
after welding (the marker pen makes them look wobbly but its an optical illusion)

Plenums ended up as rectangular box sections instead of round tube - tops of runners were bellmouthed.

1 1/2in heater boxes were trial fitted as the bus will still run operational heaters.

We are in the process of making the custom fuel tank with the width and height taking into account other ancillaries that need to be mounted in the
engine bay like the intercooler water pump

PWR water reservoir was mounted onto the front face of the tank (hence why steel was used - easier to work with when it acts as a mounting surface as
well as a tank)

T3 engine access hatch was narrowed and grafted in for easier access

Centre section of inlet manifold

Throttle cable setup is close to finalisation although supercharger will move in towards the fan shroud 15-20mm so the front engine plate is still
just the first laser cut mockup, it needs a little adjustment here and there.

The machinist spun up an adaptor collar between the supercharger and throttle body with double o-ring internally and grub screw to locate

Supercharger oil reservoir also mounted on tank. Oil lines (copper) will all be removed and painted later - due to the length of some of the runs we
wanted to use hardline where possible to minimise internal friction/resistance.

Thats about it for now.
Cheers
Al

Looking good there Al, but I have a question..... Why the rectangular plenums?

Rob who was doing the fab work made that decision - I prefer the look of round plenums however it was easier and quicker with the material he had
available to go rectangular at that time. Unless someone knows there is a big functional difference between the round vs rectangular I'd say they
will stay as is.

Slowly but surely the engine ancillaries are progressing - we have been held up a couple times with some machining work however not too long to go
now.
The Plazmaman water to air intercooler was fabricated recently:

Pulleys (6PV belt) haven't been machined yet (CAD drawings required slight adjustment) however idler and tensioner pulleys were all aligned with the
new laser cut front plate (this will go through one final change with slots cut out etc). Laser was used to align pulleys

This gives you an idea of the belt run:

Will get the heads back to Leon's Motors asap so they can start the assembly whilst we wait for the pulleys and final version of the face
plate....then one more assembly before being painted/detailed/polished etc.
Cheers
Al

Looking good Al.
Nice belt set up.
Not worried about heat build up with the heater boxes?

Hey Marcus, heat is always a consideration - however the rest of the motor will remain relatively mild including cam and compression and with only 7
to 8psi of boost, head temps should remain under control. The heater boxes are the 1 1/2 inch flanged variety rather than stock internall diameter
ones so exhaust flow shouldn't be restricted excessively. External oil cooler with thermostat and fan will help to a degree (pardon the pun).
Troy, we didn't get any shots from the back but the two bolts above the crank pulley attach the face plate to one gusset that ties into the fuel pump
stud locations, and there are an additional two bolts (I think only one bolt in at time of pictures) between the crank and supercharger pulleys that
attach a secondary gusset that ties back to at least two (possibly three) alternator stand studs).
Cheers
Al

Just noticed the belt held together temporarily. Is there some place you can have them made to a custom length?

Most belt lengths are available to within 5, 10, 15, 20mm differences.
There are hundreds of lengths available
