next project...$500 '67 beetle

I picked this up a couple of years ago with the intention of having a beetle that goes in a straight line as quick as possible for next to nothing...well i haven't done much apart from weld (poorly) the front heater channels and rustproof the pan and body...have spare engines laying around so might try and do something for warwick this year... Then again, there is also a notch waiting for something to be done.

got under the beetle to check out the pan, hit it with some lanolin and found one of the jacking points slightly twisted. any ideas? cut it off and start again or gently bend it back into place, rest of the beetle is solid, nice straight panels and the doors and bonnet close like new..decklid is another story
