Machanic's Sunshine coast?
Hello there, new here and very much enjoying our Type 3 Notchback who is almost original as the day she was born. BUT where do you guys recommend that
we take her for works? we need a QLD RWC as she is from NSW. WE live Landsborough Nr Beerwah/Caloundra? Oh and we were told we need to fit reversing
lights to her is this true? and any ideas on washer bottle as the tyre system does not seem great?
Many thanks in advance Syreeta

if it didnt have reversing lights from factory then no you dont need them.
theres not a great deal of VW specialalty to choose from on the coast,
i use Custom vee dub in stafford brisbane and they are fantastic, but i would also recomend the RACQ mechanic in kayleigh drv maroochydore (off wises
road, near the DOT) russel specialises in BMC but if you just want a road worthy or regular service he is a good mechanic and wont rip you off.
oh and if you want to keep it origional, use the stock bottle, otherwise go to a jap wrecker and look for a reservoir that has a built in pump, hook
the pump up to a push button switch and the hose to your washers. you might have to fabricate a mounting bracket.

Thanks for that will look into those, as for washer bottle I think I am missing a part for it to work properly so will find out, I thought that was
the case with the reversing lights, but they said they didn't know! There is a guy just up the road from me who is german and for the last 30 years
has worked on VW he was reccomended by my garage, but you need a 4WD to get to his place and he was very much umm ahhh not sure how much, how long
etc, which may come with the teritory but we have been stung by that kind of guy before on our Devon campervan in the UK, a umm ahh 1800.00 pound
resto was a umm ahh 4500.00 pound pick up, it was rushed and we were dissapointed. So I am going to be way more careful this time! ANYWAY I am so
chuffed with my type 3 although it was a square I was after she is great, so the bug has taken over again, I still want the square, then a beetle and
of course a Kombi! I don't want much hey!
Cheers Syreeta

Seeing my name was mentioned I better spill the beans, I am doing repairs and engine work from home, only air cooled, with only 'one on one' (me and
the car) quality repairs. Maybe not for everyone as I do take some time due to being a one man show and a little out of the way for quick parts
deliveries, but if you want a good job, feel free to give me a call. I specialize in hipo a/c engines and offroad set up. Located between Noosa and
Cooroy.

As Anthiron said custom off road are good guys as well as micks, also saw a vw place at kawana the other day which I no nothing at all about.
