More KO 273 Oldbug CB Restoration Pics

Randy Carlson of Oldbug recently reposted pics of the CB he restored in 2003.
This is the CB that got lots of attention in VW Trends magazine.

Most of the pics posted around of KO 273 are from the article.
At Randy's site however, there are several shots not seen elsewhere, particularly shots in the car's unrestored state and during the restoration process.
I'm going to include a few here to whet the the appetite, but in the interest of saving some bandwidth, I would encourage you to click on the link below to see more.

The Oldbugs resto was a good one given it was done in the US with limited help from a few Aussies.
The thing that really went well was the manufacture of the softtop which was based on photos form one of the Manuals I provided to Randy early in the piece.
Wonder where it really ended up as it has not been sighted at any of the US based events lately.

Bill,
The latest word I have from my sleuthing about CBs in the US is that VWJessie (female), who first posted to AVD March 27th, is the owner of Randy's KO 273 restoration.
Jessie's post:
http://forums.aussieveedubbers.com/viewtopic.php?tid=75589

Randy states in a Samba thread she previously lived in Arizona and bought the car from him. She then moved to Chico, California, which is in northern CA. She verifies what he says in the thread about the car.
I found an Aussie Country Buggy
http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=209309&postdays=0&po...
See page #2

So now we know where this formerly "lost" CB is although we aren't having any luck communicating with the owner. She was a first time poster at The Samba in the thread, so apparently isn't tuned in to the daily or even intermittent exchanges at VW forums which have a specific interest in CBs. Jessie lives about 3 hours drive from Wendy Kircher (KO 519) and Randy is trying to get them to hook up for shows, etc. These are probably the best examples of CBs in the US (among the best anywhere IMO) and are owned by two women who live relatively close together.....i.e., the math reveals 20% of the known CBs in the US are owned by women.

Any women own CBs in Oz???

Regards,
Steve
