The Wakefield Park hillclimb is deceased. When they resurfaced the main track they just laid another 2-3 inches of hotmix over the top of the old track.... and they didnt bother with the hillclimb section.

A shame. I was at the very first one and got my pic in Auto Action. Went very close to laying the kombi down before I even got off the main circuit and onto the hillclimb section.

Tamworth Sporting Car Club runs lapdashs and Hillclimb events all through the year on the Oakburn Park circuit.

I can post the next event for anyone who is interested.

As far as supersprints go you can only run 1 car at a time as the track is esentially a go-kart track and is not wide enough for multiple cars.

Cost would have to be confirmed with the club but i can safelty say it would be more than resonable.

Cheers Col

Hi Col,

See if you can negotiate down to less than reasonable.

Hey Dave, we got lucky (if you could call it lucky)

Sucked in water - through the turbo (only at idle speed) & put about 4 litres of water into the intercooler. When the intercooler filled up - no air could get past & she stopped!

So no water in the engine & gearbox & rear diff all came up good - had everything double checked (and noted in case of future insurance claim) but all up less than a grand (including a $270 tow...)

Screwed up the weekend, but could have been way worse!

put on some warm weather for next year please

I agree - would have been great to catch up again! - let me know if there is any worth driving down for Jak & we will try. Maybe that NSW "Dutton" challenge later this year!

Yes it's a horrible edge but I reckon a concrete scrubbing machine could fix that....

If my current overseas plans don't happen, and I am in australia I will be there next year. The money is ready to go, and I have leave saved up so its time the bug got back on the track and running. Its been to long on the passenger side. Need to start driving again!!
