prep for Valla

this will b my first time to nambucca,
in preperation i hav replaced all four tyres, the rear now a much better set of Pirelli P5000 195/65 which dont scrub (hardly) im so happy! and Michelin 185/55 fronts whcih r not as harsh as the others and the car feels good.
also fitting my new motor next week hopefully, finally converting my crazy 6 volt wipers to 12 volts and fitting some new fuses and running H4 blue globes in my headlights (instead of the candles at the moment). also fitting some sound insulation for the long drive.
the car was set to be painted by now but unfortunately my painters' other jobs have taken too long to complte.

who will b coming past newcastle on friday on the way up? wanna cruise with some newcastle VWs?

sam

Sorry Sam, we'll be passing through on Thursday sometime between noon and 1pm (I hope). :(

Dave, cool. Are you continuing on Thursday night, or staying with us at the Oasis Resort in the Gong?

Well we are still not 100% sure yet if we are camping it or cabining it but in preparation we thought we'd take the opportunity this weekend (just about gone by) to test out the camping side. If we camp this will be our setup, Kombi and camping trailer. The tarp isn't normally over the top but as we had quite heavy rainfall in Sydney leading up to last Friday we put it on as a precaution. Turned out it wasn't needed and the weather was great, sunny and warm during the day, chilly at night (countered by the heater in the camping trailer, kids and adults happy!).

First shot is Kombi front and camping trailer rear:

Next, Kombi rear and trailer front:

Lastly Kombi getitng a bit of an airing and cleanup:

Also gave us a good chance to work out what supplies we still need to get before Valla.
