I've heard that some dubs can run hot but ... jeeeez.
maybe they should consider changing to a lid with a set of four vents..

I recall they had the "creator" of this BBQ on Burke's Backyard b4. He's a bit of a VW nut

I can't imagine that the rear windscreen louvre would make it very easy to clean the splattered fat from the rear windscreen.
Cool idea, but why did he have to chop up a ragtop?

Great BBQ that one - the rear seat is still there, and has two little tables either side.
Is connected up with a drawbar so you can tow it around.
The guy that owns this, Pat, is an auto upholsterer in Perth - he did the hood lining on my bug (and did it well too). He has a trakka (i think) twin
cab ute and a couple of other unrestored vw's. If anyone wants to get in contact with him, Bill at Volkswest can give you contact details.
By the way, when Pat won a holiday to the NT with this BBQ, he gave it away to one of his mates !!!

I have kept the back end of a kombi for doing the exact same thing. Good thing about a kombi is that it has a little cabinet underneath to store the
tools!
Back when I was a teenager the DJ at Warilla Bowls nightclub had a 60's beetle as his... booth thingo. I've seen bits of furniture made from
the back ends of cars, and thats where I got my 'original' idea for a BBQ. Obviously its not original at all.

I had mine on the front porch but it made me look like a red neck.

Joes fish Shack in Fremantle has two counters made from one kombi..... on opposite sides of the restaurant (ie cut it in half).
I'm pretty sure it wasnt a factory ragtop that he cut up....
