TYPE 4 COOLER ON A TYPE 1

Is it worth putting a type 4 cooler on a type 1 motor ?
Can you still buy the cooler new?

Would hate to seize my motor with any foreign matter using an unknown secondhand one !!!
Cheers:thumb

Hi Craig,
I've used a type 4 cooler before & didn't really notice the difference. It's a lot of work to modify the doghouse shroud & it sits very close to the fire wall.
I only noticed a difference when I went to an external cooler.
The shroud & the cooler are at Richards if u are still interested.
regards
Jak

PS the Americans seem to swear by it.

Congratulations to Ben Durie for breaking the hillclimb record at Ringwood in his stroker beetle!

You would be better off fittting a remote cooler rather than stuffing round with the type 4.

Dont forget the remote will increase your oil capacity, run it with a thermostat, should be great
