Rain!
Thank God - (Tick appropriate box here)
It's nearly 2am and I have just been woken the second time, the first was at 11 with the constant drone of heavy rain on the roof. I'm not a
religious man but it have to thank someone and I not even a farmer.
Like most of Australia at the moment the drought has taken it toll. My neighbour was telling me last weekend he went to a funeral a fortnight ago. A
son had found his dad in a wool press. Sadly he couldn't cope anymore and must have felt it was an easier way out. This week I have had two
students sign out of school. Both year 10 students. So close to their School Certificate. One leaving to find part time work to help out her parents.
Land owners.
I hope this rain is more wide spread than just central New South Wales. I was on excursion early last week and could see ground for winter crop
freshly turned over. Let hope this down fall drowning my thoughts out now is what the farmers need.

Good post Bronze. Keep us up to date on how it's going out there, and how much this rain helps out.

Similar situation in W.A, though the central wehatbelt is getting better.
Our resevoirs (Perth) are at 17%, and alot of that is too salty or muddy to use. However, we have had quite a bit of rain over the last 3 weeks - so
much so that some areas in the wheatbelt have gone from dustbowls to mud bowls, and now farmers cannot get on their crops to spray.
Still, its better than the last 2 years (driest in recorded history for W.A).

Is it possible to MAKE it rain?
You could try this - go outside and wash your VW. It will then rain.
It always works in Sydney.
