dropped spindles

Just found out through an engineer that I know (ACT based) that by the letter of the law dropped spindles are a no go due to the parts involved being modified. Beam adjusters tho OK.
I know that chances are you would never be pulled up by the scallies but was just thinking about if in an accident and insurance wise would suck to not get paid on a small little thing.
