Does anyone else set off car alarms?

My Kombi will, on lots of occasions, set off the car alarms of parked cars.
is it the extractors?
it can't be just me because I have done it with other Kombis I have owned
Anyway it's lot's of fun at the shopping centre carpark........
:P
Ha Ha

Yep my oval used to with the Hot Dog Muffler. Often as I left the Vic VW club meeting at the Vic RAVC club , I would give it a boot full down Little Collins Street in the city (a really narrow one way street with tall building all around) and there would be a trail of parked cars with the alarms all screaming as I turned on to King street. Thought it was pretty kool.
Took that exhaust off a while ago as I was getting paraniod about getting busted for too loud an exhaust.
Got a nice quiet and boring stocker now

Lexi used to have 'sports' tailpipes fitted and I always used to set off car alarms driving thorugh the narrow streets on Newtown! It was good at 4AM when I was going to work...he he he!

Surprisingly, this happened to me yesterday !! I only have a Thunderbird extractor system, with 'normal' style (not hotdog ) muffler on it.

When I had my 57' baja with 1800 type 4 and hot dog it would do it all the time. Such a laugh when it happens !!!!!!

HAHA when my exhaust falls off the 71 bug, it sets everything off ... it even 'outblasts' Harley Davidsons :) I nearly scared an overly hairy looking guy off his bike once :kiss

Every day at my office parking is underneath the building so in the confined space Henery sounds quite loud though in reality isn't. At idle I have no problems but as I leave Just have to give it a quick rev and pop pop there they all go.
Yes I am hated in the building.

Tis good fun but, Cheers Nige:thumb
