M-codes

Just got the birth certificate back for my '63 ghia. Official birthday 19 Oct 1962, and confirmed as I thought it has the original engine. Delivered to Melbourne.

Goal is to have her restored for her 50th birthday!

The M-codes listed verbatim;

M009 yellow tail lights
M020 MPH speedo
M108 Custom Model
M187 headlamps for left-hand traffic (ie RHD)
M554 Upholstery leatherette red
M008 cannot be identified

Does anyone know the M108 and M008 codes. I've already checked the list on the Samba without any luck.

Cheers

Angus

You are lucky they listed any M codes at all...

many owners in the USA have received certificates with very little info... and no info on the M codes...
they don't have enough staff to go looking any more...
sometimes many things are incorrect too...

LEE

PS I'll have a look in some books to see what M codes are listed... cheers Lee
