Front Hood Lid,stuck sometimes?

G-day everyone.
Sometimes when i go to open the front hood lid,i have to push my pinky finger all the way in for it to open.Other times i have to pull the open lever(glove box) 3 times before it will open.Is there a way to make this easier?.I played around with the little nut above the mechanism thinking it might help and got the lid stuck for half an hour before finally getting it open.So i changed that back the way it was  .
cheers

Hi
You will see the cable under the lock going thru a round piece with a grubscrew holding it...

undo the grubscrew and move the wire thru a few extra mms
and tighten the grubscrew...
also grease the whole locking piece on the bonnet with vaseline or petroleum jelly ... and the body locking parts too..

The spring on the bonnet part is supposed to push the bonnet up slightly when you pull the handle in the glovebox..

its a tricky thing, as you have found out...
Your button shouldn't have to be pushed in far at all...
sounds like something is bent etc....

One of the locals cut the cable off from the glovebox..
and put the wire thru a hole down beneath and put a knob on it... so it was unlocked from under the front...

Hi

Make sure that you actually tighten the cable when you adjust it as Lee suggested.

I like to take the cable off the lock and suspend the cable end higher than the lever and then dribble some oil down it, then when it all back together it will operate very smoothly.

I replaced a dodgy glovebox lever by fitting a N13 pulsar cable mounted under the left hand side of the dash, nice neat little conversion

Mine often gets really hard to open.. as in the lever in the glove box has to be pushed with considerable force,
also you have to push the bonnet down before pushing the button or it wont open.. but i cant see any adjustments that can be made to it..
