What engine do I have???
I have a engine that I am not sure what size it is or approx year it was made.
It has twin port heads. The number just below generator bracket is N928586P, and there is a number on the top of the main case (next to oil cooler)
which is T0812038.
Can anyone give me an idea?

the prefix N refers to a 1500 single port engine...that is unless it has been modified

Hi
The TO number is a Type 3 engine number.
The N number is a police number given to new cranckcases, in your case they probably didnt see the engine number under the fan housing, I assume it
was fitted to Beetle or Kombi.

Thanks for the reply's. The engine was just a motor I picked up with no details. So it's a 1500 twin port from a type 3. It has been set up
with a beetle fan housing and a single carb, so I imagine it was in a beetle?
