Times a changin...
I don't only love VW's you know - another strong interest I have other than geocaching and geography is hovercrafts.
Never been in one, only seen a couple but fell in love with them at Expo88 on the Brisbane river.
Wasn't going to pay $40 for a fifteen minute ride when one day I'd own my own.
A pic I found with two interests in one image-

The monster SRN4 ferry sporting a sunroofed late 60's beetle exiting the ramp access.

went on the hoverloyd years ago, definately a weird experience as a first timer. I recall it was very noisy.
We were told we had the roughest channel crossing in 20 years and they were about to cancell all services.
It was so topsy turvey i nearly puked :repuke |

I went on a HUGE hovercraft from France to England. The thing had a casino inside of it!

I like em to my family use to reside in England on The Isle Of White. As a kid Id love watching the hovercraft's come in. It just ammazed me how
it could go on land & water. Still very cool.

They had a good program on Foxtel on the History channel I think about the man who first started developing hovercraft. I only saw the end of it, but
it was really interesting and ended up with those huge ones like in the pic.
I suppose thats gotta be quicker than a ship docking at aport and running a gangway for exit.
