Jigsaw 59

Ok, a few here have asked me to put my build up here.
I started with my 67 1300 deluxe I picked up on ebay.
After picking it up found it beyond help,,,, someone had used the roof as deck and too much rust in heater channels and A piller.
So started looking for a shell,
Through a fellow Aussieveedubber (Thanks Nathan) I now a owner of a 59 shell (January 59 speedo) I was going to put the shell on my 67 chassis, but at the same time as getting the shell I picked up a 68 rolling auto pan :)

Will be a real bitsa being a 59 shell, 58 doors, 67 engine 1300 (Could be a 1500 by the carb, 12volt, how can you tell externaly?) 67 seats and using the 59 origional roof lining and door trim/cards
the guards/wings will be 67 front and 68/67 rear to be welded up in the lower bumper mounts, hood is 67 also.

Once I get my photo account up and running I will post a few photos

I am always looking for cheap bits to get in on the road, will be made up of other peoples rejects

Also have a TP being built up as a 1835.

Not much difference between the Aussie '59 and '67 body shells. The '59 has trafficators (semaphores to people who read US magazines), and the front bonnet pull on the passenger side. The sheet metal around the winscreen washer/ brake fluid reservoir may be different. And the '67 has a fuel gauge - that's about it.

Otherwise the '67's mudguards have extra holes for the over-rider supports, and front blinker holes that the '59 didn't have. The '67 rear number plate light is wider. The '67 bonnet has spring-loaded arms, rather than the latch arm used on the '59. It also looks like the '59 once had a manual choke - on the RHS of the ash-tray.

I'm sure the Brits would think BOTH shells are quite good for their age!

Yep mostly the same, the front guards (In Aussie speak) will be left as is other than to fix up the rust in the headlight buckets.
The rear will be 67 on the drivers side and on the pasenger side will be a 68+
Both will have all holes welded up as I will be using snowflake taillights and not running overriders at the rear.

The 59 has the choke cable I will be keeping ATM, might be handy when I get my big motor in it eventually :)

Bonnet will be converted to the 67 style springs as I have heard how many bonnets are bent due to being forced down when on the one sided hinge lock.

As far as the patina,,,,, I dont know??? I have blau doors (with red flash) blau bonnet, front guards, one blue rear guard and one white.

Most likely repaint,,, all beige and leave some of the beige patina and maybe leave the flash on the doors (and extend to the body) if I can get hold of flash trim?

Need elephant ears, boss hub for 60s short column for my Momo wheel, mirror glass for hinge mounted mirrors, ice pick door handles,
'
Anyone know what the colour code is for 59 Beige, went to a link I found and it's not listed ???
