Welding advice/help wanted in Brisbane or surrounds.

I was wondering if someone in Brisbane who's handy with a welder might take a look at my kombi for me. He's rusting away quite badly on the rain channels above both front doors, which had been disguised by a lousy paintjob by PO, until I discovered that paint was in fact the major structural component of this section. Also, I just recently poked a hole through the roof next to where the pop top joins (one of those silly "gee that looks bubbly <poke> OOPS!" kind of events)

What I want to find out is if it's plausible to fix these sections by welding in some new channel, or if poor Walter really should be declared a tragic point-of-no-return rustbucket. And frankly, I'm just too embarrassed to take him to a panel-beater.

Of course, if anyone feels like giving me a few welding lessons, I'd be really happy! :D :kiss

Thanks,
Ang.

Ang

There will be a mob from the VWDCQ at my place over the weekend. We are working on the "Ladybugs" VW entrant in the Variety Club Bash.
We should be able to give you an opinion :-)

and if anybody else out there would like to lend a hand, you are most welcome!
