Theiving Scum
Hi Everyone
Some low life theived my new $70.00 VW badge off my 77 Kombi, in the Tweed City shopping centre car park. I am on a pension and things like my new
badge have to be saved for over a long period of time! I hope the dead beat gets his own back, I will be looking for it!

Bummer.....vw badges are a popular target for theives, within the last 2 months my grandad had his chrome vw badge pinched off his 1970 kombi which
did a bit of damage to the original paint work then about a week later my dad had all the badges nicked from his 70s bug.
Because of this i decided to remove the badges from my ute before someone else did it for me.

I had the badge stolen off my 68 kombi and boy was I pissed as I couldn't get another original one easily. It turned out that some kids had been
distributing them around at a local school and they got caught and luckily I ended up with my badge back. I still havent put it back on. Keeping it
for special occasions and am thinking of making up some out of resin. |

havent looked lately, just prsumed my badge is still there. Would be quite difficult and would ruin it getting it off as it's a metal chrome
one. $70 is cheap, this one cost me 60 scottish pounds.

A Bronze curse:
May our offenders depraved social and sexual delights be revealed prime time during Big Brother with a photo and detailed descriptions of what his
tackle looks like post surgery after the white tail spider bit him on the knob while stoking knot holes in his neighbors garden. Soon after this
public shaming our thief finding himself in prison discovers his bed full of the fleas of a thousand camels intent on gorging themselves on his
neither regions while outside his cell the prisons general population vote his arse as the being the tightest fudge jar in ‘A’ section.
:cussing Get the feeling I hate thieves :cussing
I hate being treated like a criminal everytime I go into a shop because 5% percent of our population think it's ok to steal. Even when I
wasn't on duty (when I worked security) I would point out ratbags pinching stuff from shop to the manager or security staff.
If I catch a thief at school I have to refer them to the deputy else I say / do somthing that may endanger my secure employment.

Badge stealing has been going on alot of late. Big article in the sunny coast paper a few months ago on how 3 little shits went around and nicked all
these badges off cars and showed them off to all their mates at school... and got seriously busted!
i hope the little diksticks that stole your badge get a big padling on the arse from their mother, and then some!! |

Bad news Robo.
For a different reason I filled the original holes in the front (they're just rust holes) and have mounted the emblem with body mould tape. They
will ruin the badge if they try and remove mine!!
Another option is a small bolt with a nyloc nut on the inside, no way to take it off alone.
Too answer an earlier question, early Bay's had the large steel emblem (68-72) and late bay's had the small plastic emblem (73-79).

I just want to say thank you to the Kind people who helped me, you know who you are. This is one of the reasons why I love this forum, genuine people
with a common interest in VW's.
The loss of the badge was particularly bitter for me because it was a brand new one, if it was the original old one I would not have worried about
it too much, but as I see, I am not the first and not the last that this has happened to
Thank you again!

Now I know why so many late model cars have NO Badges on the back of them..... I heard a few months ago that every badge was taken off every
car in a late model car Yard in Singleton NSW... The Thieves used something like a large screw driver and damaged every car...... this is stupid
when You can go to a car wreckers yard and fill Your pockets up with Badges for Nix...!!! and NOT end up in Court and Jail

We have heaps of various stick on late model badges that we keep for some reason. Once we take them off cars for painting or whatever, it is more
economically viable to buy a new badge for between $5 to $40 depending on the style, than it is to try and (sometimes unsuccessfully) retape them.
What I am saying is that a lot of panel shops will have dozens or even hundreds of badges for kids, if only they got the initiative to ask rather than
take. I would give a few badges to kids if they want. New apprentices always seem to want to take them home for the first couple of months. :P
