Cooperabung hillclimb,
Well what a mess.
Rain on Saturday night meant a wet track for the first run, and a slippery damp track for the second.
The track can only be described as trecherous before the hairpin, approach speed approx 140-150k,s in my beetle on a ordinary peice of well loosely called bitumen road.
Out of the haipin and around the sweeper on to the finish line, well plain diabolical.
The club resurfaced this fast right hand sweeper and all the small stones were lifting out off the bitumen, it was like racing on bloody marbles.
They swept it with a road sweeper after run 2 but shit i didn,t notice any improvement.
Anyway Heath drove well to take the class win with a high 29sec run. Christine took second with a 30something run , and i managed a 31.8 run.
To be honest i was just glad the car was straight at the end of the day.
there were 7 accidents all together out a field of approx 55 cars, pretty high accident rate. Some very accomplished drivers and big dollar cars wre seriously damaged.
Congrats to Heath though, next round June long weekend at Grafton.
Cheers Col
