[FS - NSW] Actually ACT - 2 x 1970 swing axle beetles, make 1 good car from the 2.

Not for the faint hearted but if you know your way around Beetles these are far from scrap. I bought them a couple of years ago from Michael down at the Canberra VW Centre in Tuggers and they have sat around gathering dust. Was told they are both 1500s with solid pans/heater channels etc. Would prefer to sell both together. They are located in south Canberra.

EDIT: Just noticed that Beetle number 2 has rust in the drivers side floor, sorry for the oversight.

Beetle 1
11/1970 model, no engine, has had a fire in the rear which was cleaned up and painted over in black. I've stripped the paint off the rear 1/2 of the roof and the metal underneath is fine. No big dings or dents in the car. Very good body considering the age. In addition to the photos has matching rear guards in good condition and in original colour, front bar and boxes of bits inside including headlights, tailights, door handles, window winders etc. Also a new headlining kit (that would need a scrub), front & rear windscreens.

PS I have no idea what is under the silver paint in Pic 3.

Beetle 2

10/1970 model, pretty much a shell covered in surface rust with a running motor and box which I'm told was in good condition when I bought it, if you bring a battery you can drive it home though I wouldn't recommend it! Again, was told the floorpan is sound. I thinkn it has an aftermarket exhaust system fitted as the muffler hands out the drivers side. Due to lack of space this one has been moved outside this weekend but has been stored in a garage until now.

Included in the sale are 2 spare doors, 2 engine lids, 1 new set of black vinyl door cards, at least 1 full set of seats. I can't say for sure if everything you need is there to build a complete car from this lot but it looks like it'd be bloody close. I'm not a VW expert but will try my best to answer any questions.

Looking for $900 which is what I paid for them. If no real interest in the next 7 days I will be listing them on Ebay. Please contact Brett with any questions on 0412 589 913.

Cheers.

Hi mate,
New hear so cant send PM yet, finally something for sale in canberra! So the heater channels and floor pan are rust/rot free in the first beetle? and is there any damage other than paint loss from the fire? are you available for viewing during the week or on the weekend?

Justnoticed that the 2nd one does have rust in it but pretty confident the green car is solid. Give me a call if you want to come have a look. Cars are in Kambah. Cheers.

OK, not much interest in both vehicles together, will consider separating. Open to offers. Cheers.
