Hi from Rockhampton!
Just want to say Hi and I'm glad to find this site! I'm Cat! I just got my first vw beetle (my dream Car) as a present a couple of months ago bessie
is a 1970 Ascott Green beetle. She cost me $1500 from a loverly mechanic and v-dub lover Gordon from nth rocky mechanical. She had a bit to do to get
her roadworthy. But we have her registered now and want to start a full body restoration!
I would love to hear from other people who are in the same process and anyone who lives up this way who would like to meet etc! I dont know if the are
any vw clubs up here! and any advice would be appreciated.
I would love to upload some pics but cant work out how to make them smaller!
I do have a face book page and have a photo album on Bessie and what we've done so far under Catrina King.

Hi
Great to have another vw lover on here,
I would just drive your vw around a year or two and enjoy it cause with cars its all about driving them.
You may want to come to Valla and check out some nice rides.

Thanks guys!
All i know was I was bitten by the bug when I was little! And after searching long and hard for one I was about to give up and a wrecker at yeppoon
gave me Gordons number. I remember it was funny one had just been left in his yard the owner had given her up and I fell in love at first site!
She has an aweful lot to be done to bring her back from shabby lol.I have plywood spraypainted door panels! but she runs well and is and has little
rust for her age. I'm just working out the particulars and have to find a good panel beater spray painter then set up a budjet and get her stripped
back and fully restored!
I'm thinking of rebuilding her engine but gordon thinks she still has between 5 and 10 left in that so for now i'm at full body restore full seat
recover and new carpet and paint, the only two pieces i'm missing is the chrome strip down her bonnet and i want a left handed mirror! And a funny
question I know but is a bug a 4 or 5 seater people dont seem to know?

4 seater
Gordon sounds on the money about the motor if its not broken don't fix it
You can buy the dress up stuff from mick motors.
Dont worry about paint as it can run into thousands and once the car is all pulled apart and it needs more money spent and you have a budget, the
painter ain't going to put it back together.
