Parts, suppliers, wreaking yards, hell anything V Dub
here's hoping you can help me out, i am having real probs tryin to locate good parts, new and old. I know of Micks Motors but thats about it. i
am in CQ but anything will do,also mags... there are hardly any if any v-dub mags i can find! anything, sites, phone numbers u name it.. i mite be
sounding a little naive about volkswagons but i have not long moved to Qld from the uk and the scene there is massive and of cause the country is so
small compared to here that all shops etc are with in a few hours drive. i have been involved with the V-Dub movement in the uk for years and have
been restoring and making custom dubs for years.. the main parts i am trying to locate are engine components,78 cranks 92mm barrels/pistons
eliminator heads and that brings me onto another problem i am having. It seems that all the parts i know and use are made by different people over
here and they have different names.. causing me great headaches. sorry to harrass you all but i just want to build some more sweet dubs.... thanks to
all for any help you can give me... the pic is the last bug i built before leaving the uk..

Where abouts in central qld, there might be some neighbours on the forum.
You should have bought the bug with you when you came. No aussie magazines anymore.
Internet searches are pretty good, but you will probably quickly cotton on that the serious car builders source heir parts from OS.
get them shipped by mates from the UK |

Welcome to the forum mate :thumb
For U2U, check in the upper RH corner of your screen when you are logged into the forum. It will say "You have X new U2U message(s)". If
there's nothing there, then obviously you don't.

Welcome mate :thumb
Yeah Oz is a big place and shops are strung out all over the place.
Up the top of the screen is a link calle "OZ VW DIRECTORY" Click on that and there are address and phone #'s and details of shops from
all over.
For performance parts there are several people about and they all ship. Fairly cheaply too.
For cranks and other hi po stuff look up
Ben Durie (he chats here) - Newcastle area
V Force - Richard Holzl - Sydney
Vintage Vee Dub Supplies - Boris - Sydney
There are others but these are the guys that i know do good stuff and happily ship.
Yeah - ditch the 92's. Thin walled and dont go as well as 90.5's or 94's

You could even try getting in touch with one of the forum sponsers like Volkspower who carry a lot of aircooled parts. We spend more on parts than
anybody else in Victoria. We offer trade prices to forum users who contact by U2U and we also stock disc brake kits in a variety of stud patterns
along with most other parts you would need to build a vee-dub. And I haven't even mentioned the wrecking yard yet.

Check the top line on this web page, there is a 'oz vw business directory', and as Volks power said, check out the forum sponsors.
Good luck with the re-builds, looking forward to the results.
