Flamin' Tiki Drag Car

In the name of sharing here is a link to some photo's of my new drag car.

The CBB racing team grows yet again this year with the development of my little project that will hopefully see action soon.

For those with a keen eye you might notice one of the pedal assemblies from another post. (hope this clears soon confusion)

A great many people contributed to this build. Thank you to all. Especially Mike from CBB and David stoker for there specialist advice, help and encouragement.

http://cbbvw.com/vehicle/7/Flamin-Tiki

Heads are down and racing to complete the car. But i will try to update this post when progress is made and time allows.

Regards
Shane

Yeah Stanley, We are quite proud of the bar work. Built in our factory here at Letter Art. All chrome-moly pipe to Andra Spec's. This is the first chassis i have built and had a ball putting it together with the help of Larry, Mike, Dave, Darren and Allan.

The tinware on the other hand is one thing i hope i never have to do again.

Dave the engine will be a CBB composition including a single Supercharger and Methanol Injection on a 1916cc. Engine is still in the works but hope to fire her up in the coming weeks.

What a great weekend. Thanks to everyone for there track reports it saved me some typing. Was great to see so many Vw's out to play. I will post some figures for those who are interested. Car run straight all day. Now that I'm more confident driving, I'll beg mike to let me dyno the car and see what the engine can do after a little tuning. Thanks to everyone on the day who helped make it so good.

Dave your going to have to raise your offer norm has already set tho bar high with a kiss at the end of the track ( I think he was a little emotional after winning his bracket) Henry also got a kiss form norm for his efforts.

Buggy Dave in sure you times will surpass mine before to long just take your time and creep up on it slowly is my advice. I'm progressing painfully slow but it keeps driver, car and wallet safe.

Thanks everyone for your encouragement and thanks for the video.

We run the buggy up on cbb's dyno tonight. We wanted a base line to start tuning good news is all looks safe in the tune up for some fun this weekend. Not bad for 1916 on low boost!

What's the limit those blowers will handle safely? Am i correct in hearing about 16psi limit or is that a wives tail?

Thanks Darren for posting the dyno sheet for me. I'm pretty pleased with the curve i must say Dave. Will probably play with the lower end but what a good place to start. As for boost pressure your pretty right my information is the same and I have never been able to break 15psi to date. Darren does in Too Cranky but of coarse he has the extra blower to help out. Not that i have been playing with pulley sizes and boost yet either. Quite happy to keep the charger in one piece at the moment. maximum boost peaks early and drops slightly for the remander of the run. Looking forward to making some changes and seeing the outcome on the weekend. Thank you all for your interest .

No we haven't logged the inlet temps in my car. I need to invest in a few more sensors of the racepac. Yeah Westi the clutch is my enemy. Modified my seat so I might have a better chance of getting off of it. If that don't help I'm in trouble
