Rear Coil over conversion

I've seen on here that Front Coil overs were covered, but has anyone got any experience with rear coil overs.

Red9Design in the UK does a coversion kit for the rear and front, but i'm not sure if it would be legal in NSW/Australia.

http://www.red9design.co.uk/type1.htm

I reckon that the coil over set-up would be great in a bug

Hi

The only draw back is the shock location points. They're not really strong enough to support the weight of the car.

You could go heavier torsion bars, either aftermarket or get some from a Type 3 wagon or oval window, they would would be stronger than what you have. You need to change sprint plates as well with those 2 options.

would be no probs just gusset the bottom shock mounts and use an offroad racing coilover conversion that replaces the spring plates with a heim joint. qa1 coil overs seem to be all the rage at the moment.
