another update
i have now started the golf motor in my beetle and it runs sweet.
had to adjust cam timing 1st as it was not correct, and thermostat was stuffed but all ok now.
and it even pumps the water to the radiator and back!!!
motor runs and sounds great but only used carby to start it as i dont have the fuel injection computer yet.
oil pressure is the best i have ever seen, so if you read this FROG thanks for a great motor

sweet.
Are you going to get the car finished with the carby and then swap to injection ? or is the injection on its way ?
either way, bring it on - I'm interested to see what your little machine is like when its finished !!!

its an injected motor so it will stay that way, just used the carby so i could start it and check the water cooling side of things.
the cost of the computer will be a big hold up
