if yoiu find someone who does chroming make sure they do bright copper under the chrome or the new chrome will rust
theres only one place on the east coast and thats in Albury NSW and one bar usually costs around $350.00

Proper triple coat plating (three layer, copper, nickle, chrome) will cost at least $300 for a bumper bar done properly.
Cheap plating looks like cheap plating.
If there is rust, dents, ripples etc that have to be repaired also, then it may cost more.
The original VW bumpers are heavier guage metal than the reproduction/ Brazilian/ Mexican/ aftermarket bumpers, and they are not plated well and rust
all over the surface sometimes in 6 months, sometimes it takes about two years.
You can buy aftermarket stainless stell bumpers and they are pretty good, but more expensive again.

Its cheaper to import Wolfsburg west bumpers, $130 each and $306 freight, US$566 total, than to rechrome original bumpers,

Chrome can be a bit like body paint restoration.
The main cost is the work underneath
I have forgotten the cost of the chrome on my bars on my EH. It was about 17 years ago. However I remember the quality, cause they still look new. I
think back then I paid 1.5 times the 'market' rate, as the chrome plater said he can do 110% finish.
